My most important employee is the admin at my front desk. She’s the first smiling face every client sees upon walking through the door. She sets the tone for the entire customer experience, and then has the chance to positively reinforce it as they leave for the day. Her role is imperative.
My most important employee is the most senior member of my staff, the director in charge of coordinating the team. He delivers the vision to the group as a whole, and serves as a full-time support system as they work to execute on it. He’s the man who sets an example for each impressionable new employee beneath him. His role is imperative.
My most important employee is the newest member of our coaching team. He’s the guy tasked with handling the youngest, most impressionable athletes who walk through our doors. While he may not be handed responsibility for supervising the superstar professional athletes we’re known for serving, he holds the keys to relationships with dozens of people who could become paying customers for years to come. The long term success of our operation is directly tied to his ability to retain this business. His role is imperative.
Notice how the owners don’t qualify as the most important people on the team? That’s because none of us are the most important, yet all of us are at the same time. It’s our job as leaders to make sure that everyone knows their importance and is celebrated for it.
