I recently stumbled across a set of useful articles from our pals at Certified Functional Strength Coach.
I wanted to share them here for two reasons:
1) If you run a gym, you’ll need a system for delivering your training services. Thinking of it as a “recipe” is a great metaphor for understanding how to create a consistent experience.
2) If you run a gym, you’ll need a system for… most stuff.
Although these articles are about program design, the framework is just as important for lead generation, customer service, hiring trainers, or anything else you need to do in your gym.
Here are some more thoughts from CFSC’s Kevin Carr and the article links:
“Running a successful training facility relies heavily on your team’s ability to consistently provide a unified approach to how they program, coach, and communicate.
Great training businesses have leaders in place to clearly communicate their training philosophy and methodology to their staff and coaches who can consistently “stick to the recipe” to provide a consistently amazing client experience.
As you scale your business, you will inevitably face challenges with consistency on the training floor. Your training SOP and application can easily be misconstrued, misapplied, or even ignored as your staff grows.
To solve this problem, we must clearly define “Your Recipe” for training success and provide regular staff training to ensure that your staff can stick to the recipe successfully. In these articles, we share our approach:
- WHY NEW COACHES SHOULD “STICK TO THE RECIPE” BY DAN MCGINLEY
- “STICK TO THE RECIPE” PART II: HOW MUCH OF EACH INGREDIENT? BY BRENDON REARICK
- “STICK TO THE RECIPE” PART III: OUR TOP 3 CFSC CHEF TIPS TO WHIPPING UP A DELECTABLE TRAINING PROGRAM
- The original “Stick to the Recipe” article BY MIKE BOYLE
At Certified Functional Strength Coach, we help gym owners develop a recipe for success on the training floor. Check out our series of “Stick To Recipe” articles, and to learn more about The CFSC Training Certification, head to CFSC.INSPIRE360.com.”
Always supporting your quest to uplevel,
